By accessing or using our website, publication, content, forms, advertising products, sponsored content, listings, or related services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the website.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. About Business World Australia
Business World Australia is an online digital publication focused on Australian business, entrepreneurship, leadership, industry, innovation, investment, and company storytelling.
We produce and publish website articles, executive interviews, business profiles, social media content, full-length YouTube videos, a monthly digital magazine, and related editorial and commercial content.
Our website articles, publication content, and social media content are generally free to access. We generate revenue through advertising placements, sponsored write-ups, advertorials, business directory-style listings, digital marketing services, content production services, and related commercial arrangements.
Although our publication is primarily aimed at Australian business professionals, we may also feature companies, advertisers, contributors, readers, and business professionals in New Zealand, Canada, and other countries.
3. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our website, publication, services, technology, legal obligations, ownership structure, Australian incorporation plans, or editorial and commercial practices.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the website after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
4. Informational and editorial content only
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the content we publish is provided for general business, editorial, informational, promotional, and educational purposes only.
Our content does not constitute legal, financial, investment, accounting, tax, medical, technical, professional, or regulated advice. You should not rely on content on our website, in our magazine, in our videos, in our newsletters, or on our social media channels as a substitute for independent professional advice.
We make reasonable editorial efforts to publish accurate and current information, but we do not guarantee that any content is complete, accurate, current, error-free, or suitable for your circumstances.
5. Editorial content, sponsored content, and advertising
Business World Australia publishes a combination of editorial content, business profiles, interviews, contributed content, sponsored content, advertorials, paid features, directory listings, advertising placements, and other commercial content.
Where content is sponsored, paid, advertorial, partner-supported, promotional, or otherwise commercial in nature, we may identify it using labels such as Sponsored, Advertorial, Partner Content, Paid Feature, Featured Listing, Promoted, Advertisement, or similar wording.
A company, advertiser, sponsor, founder, executive, contributor, or interviewee being featured by Business World Australia does not mean that we endorse, guarantee, recommend, verify, or accept responsibility for that party’s products, services, claims, performance, financial position, regulatory status, investment prospects, funding status, or business practices.
Advertisers, sponsors, directory customers, and featured commercial partners are responsible for ensuring that all claims, images, copy, offers, pricing, awards, testimonials, credentials, statistics, and other materials they provide to us are accurate, lawful, substantiated, current, and not false, misleading, deceptive, or likely to mislead.
6. Business profiles, interviews, submissions, and featured content
We may create content based on interviews, questionnaires, email correspondence, phone calls, video calls, public information, third-party sources, press releases, company materials, government sources, and materials submitted by founders, executives, companies, contributors, advertisers, sponsors, public officials, or other third parties.
Our forms, including forms such as Contact Us, Share Your Story, Get Featured, and Get Funded, are intended to help us identify potential stories, interviews, business profiles, startup features, magazine features, editorial opportunities, and commercial opportunities. A “Get Funded” submission is not an application for financing, investment, lending, brokerage, grants, or financial services. It is treated as an internal editorial/story submission unless we expressly state otherwise in writing.
If you submit information, materials, logos, images, videos, documents, quotes, story ideas, interview responses, company information, or other content to us, or if you participate in an interview or feature, you represent and warrant that:
- you have the right to provide those materials and information to us;
- the materials and information are accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- our use of the materials and information will not infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, moral, contractual, employment, or other rights;
- the materials do not contain unlawful, defamatory, misleading, deceptive, offensive, discriminatory, or harmful content;
- you have obtained any necessary permissions from employees, directors, officers, customers, suppliers, photographers, videographers, agencies, government officials, or other third parties whose names, likenesses, testimonials, images, work, or materials are included; and
- where you provide claims about your company, achievements, funding, growth, awards, customers, projects, certifications, or performance, those claims are truthful and capable of being substantiated.
Subject to any separate written agreement, by submitting materials to us or participating in an interview, you grant BWI Media Group and Business World Australia a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, publish, edit, adapt, excerpt, distribute, display, perform, promote, archive, syndicate, monetize, and create derivative works from those materials and interview content in any media format, including our website, magazine, social media channels, YouTube, newsletters, advertising materials, sales materials, and promotional campaigns.
You retain ownership of any pre-existing materials you provide to us, such as company logos, trademarks, photographs, or existing marketing collateral. However, unless otherwise agreed in writing, BWI Media Group owns the copyright and other rights in the articles, profiles, videos, recordings, edits, headlines, captions, layouts, designs, magazine pages, derivative works, and other content we create.
We reserve full editorial discretion over whether, when, where, and how to publish, edit, update, remove, title, package, promote, or decline any story, feature, interview, submission, listing, advertisement, campaign, or other content.
7. Corrections, updates, and removal requests
We welcome good-faith correction requests. If you believe content on our website, in our publication, or on our social channels is inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or should be reviewed, contact us at contact@businessworldaustralia.com with:
- the title and URL of the content;
- a clear explanation of the issue;
- supporting documentation, if available; and
- your name, organization, and contact information.
We will assess correction, update, and removal requests at our discretion and in accordance with applicable law, editorial standards, and our publication record. We are not required to remove content merely because a person or organization no longer wishes it to appear, unless required by law or by a binding written agreement.
8. Intellectual property
All content published or made available by Business World Australia, including articles, magazine layouts, designs, videos, graphics, logos, trade names, photographs, text, compilations, interviews, audio, visual elements, databases, directories, website materials, newsletters, and social content, is owned by or licensed to BWI Media Group and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Advertising placements, sponsored write-ups, advertorials, directory listings, content production services, social media packages, video services, and other paid products or services may be subject to separate order forms, insertion orders, proposals, invoices, statements of work, advertising terms, service terms, or written agreements.
If there is a conflict between these Website Terms and a separate signed agreement between you and BWI Media Group or Business World Australia, the separate signed agreement will govern to the extent of the conflict.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
- all advertising, sponsored content, advertorials, paid listings, and commercial campaigns are subject to our approval;
- we may reject, remove, suspend, or request changes to any advertisement, listing, sponsored content, directory profile, or campaign that we consider unlawful, misleading, inappropriate, harmful, inconsistent with our brand, or otherwise unsuitable;
- placement dates, publication dates, impressions, engagement, traffic, rankings, search performance, leads, conversions, revenue, and business outcomes are not guaranteed;

After the seven-day cancellation period has expired, bookings are non-cancellable and non-refundable, except where required by law or expressly agreed by us in writing.
Once an advertisement, sponsored article, listing, campaign, social media post, magazine placement, video, directory profile, or other paid product has run, appeared, been published, been posted, been distributed, or gone live on our website, social media channels, YouTube, magazine, newsletter, or other publication channel, it is completely non-refundable, except where required by law.
If a customer cancels within the seven-day cancellation period, any refund, credit, or cancellation treatment may be subject to work already performed, third-party costs incurred, production costs, payment processing fees, and any terms stated in the applicable order form, invoice, proposal, or agreement.
13. Payment processing
Where payments are required, we may use Stripe or another third-party payment processor. We do not intend to collect or store full payment card numbers or card security codes on our own servers.
Payment processors may collect and process payment information, billing details, transaction data, fraud prevention data, and related information in accordance with their own legal terms and privacy policies.
You are responsible for ensuring that billing information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the selected payment method. For recurring payments, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable payment method according to the billing frequency, amount, and terms disclosed at the time of purchase or in the applicable agreement.
14. Third-party websites, platforms, and embedded content
Our website and content may link to, embed, or reference third-party websites, platforms, tools, videos, social media posts, advertisers, sponsors, contributors, service providers, or other external resources.
These third parties are not controlled by us. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security, privacy practices, legal terms, or business practices. Your use of third-party sites and services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and policies.
